Central

In my new field of work, I get to be physically in close distance to my town. As dengue cases increase by the number because of rainy season, our department was tasked to disseminate information on prevention of the said condition. First place to visit is Sta.Ana Elementary School, more popularly known as Central School, as hundreds of children study here and they are relatively prone to be inflicted with dengue. Setting my feet here brought me back to my primary and intermediate levels of education. This place served as my playground for 5 years.I studied Grade 1 in "gulut pisamban.:) It was nostalgic.

The structure and buildings are almost still the same as how I remembered in the '80s and 90's. The school stage is at its original place. I glanced at my Grade 6 room under the late Ma'am Net Gonzales. She is among my favorite teachers.

The stage where I delivered my graduation speech and  performed various school plays.

The canteen where recess trays were prepared and nutri-buns were served.

Trees, how green they are.

My class would always grab the Most Disciplined section during school programs.

We did not have this in our time, a covered court.

This girl reminded me of my "cleaners" days.Looking back, I wished I kept my uniform.

Gosh!!! I am really getting old.:)

Savor the childhood school memories,kids!!
When it was my turn to give my part of the lecture,  I couldn't help but express to the audience my gladness in coming back to my alma mater. I admit I am a sentimental fool. I could have stayed longer and linger around the surroundings, ponder on the cherished camaraderie and activities created with my SPED classmates. I know that one of these days I will once again stride to my former school, sit on a bench under the lush greens and set more than enough minutes to rewind my elementary days.

Remember.Reminisce.Reflect.
