Early this morning, I attended my "last" Monday mass at our chapel with Fr. Josel Henson as the officiating priest. It's a blessing I was the commentator. Through these times, I have successfully manage to attend Masses in the university. It is one of the priceless perks of my work. Mondays are JCH's days. His homily awhile ago was about jealousy- our failure to acknowledge other's success;being overcritical of other's petty shortcomings; rejoicing in other's misery. His trademark of short but sharp reflections. I loudly said in my mind my thanksgiving to God for all that I received and gave in UA and to Mama Mary for her patient intercession with my pleas and wishes.
I started to pack my things at the laboratory, later I will hand the endorsement notes to my successor. I prepared simple snacks for a small number of people as my way of saying thank you to them for their service, care, acceptance and camaraderie. I thank the security guards for opening the gates for Kobe's entrance; the 4Runner for helping me maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory; the Registrar people for offering their friendship to me and tirelessly listening to my kikay stories; my CITL colleagues for the harmony at work; my student assistants, the NAL angels for their reliance and obedience in keeping NAL an ideal place for learning and my CON family, I wouldn't stay for 9 years here if I didn't feel happiness and satisfaction.
THANK YOU SA INYONG LAHAT!!!
Let me not please cry a river of tears on the day I will "permanently" leave my beloved university goodbye.
Everything happens for a reason.
No goodbyes. Just See you again.
