Play Live

If I have to name two sports that are close to my heart, they will surely be basketball and tennis. I do not  play the games, I am however passionate in watching them, I can discuss the rules and scoring, the players' profiles, and I feel the excitement that happens when players are on court.

Catching international tennis tournaments on television takes a great deal of effort as they are shown at another part of the world's time zone. Yes, I stay awake midnight here, early afternoon in London for Wimbledon; how about the US Open at Flushing Meadows in New York- with the 12-hour difference my Philippine time has with it.

Why do I like tennis? It is the long-standing elegance of the game, when players pump their fists on air, when the spectators clap for the two players/teams. I like it as a quiet type of sports, no continuous screaming or else the umpire won't start the match. And of course, the court has always been known to strut and produce handsome and gorgeous players. I also love the pretty, colorful outfits and jewelry of the women.

Last Friday, a wish of thousands of Filipino tennis fans was granted. International tennis players came to play live at Mall of Asia(MOA) Arena for International Players Tennis League (IPTL) tournament
.It's their way of making tennis closer to the public with a tagline #BreaktheCode, it has new rules too. Each match has only one set and there are four competing teams- Manila Mavericks, Singapore Slammers, UAE Royals and Indian Aces. Murray and Maria belong to #TeamManila. Yayyyy!! I trooped to the venue by myself, it was my first time to catch an event in the area. It's huuuuge!!!Who would have thought I will see Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic and Andy Murray and my old-time crush Lleyton Hewitt display their powerful serves and strokes in the land of Manila so soon??But hell yeah, it happened!:) And I was so glad!!!

I know this won't be the last time of me catching matches live. In fact, it's just the beginning as I will soon witness Wimbledon Open with my very good buddy Prynz and US Open together with the love of my life!! The power of positive thinking!!:)

Serve. Run. Volley.
