Arlette stayed for 5 days in PI two weeks ago. As she was billeted in Makati for her stay, I come to see her after my training ,never mind if I look like a zombie because of sleep deprivation. It was much better because another cousin-engineer and Bride of the Year, Benelee was with us also.Yayyy!! Michelle's squeezed between two stunning Math Wizards.:)
I already knew that on top of the list on Arlette's agenda is food trip which guaranteed my full cooperation even if there is this boiling struggle inside me because of my recent weight gain. Read: monay face and bondat atyan.Ok fine, my gluttony won!
Friday ramen night at Kenji Tei, Greenbelt 5. Beng is a reliable informant of must-try spots as she resides in the vicinity. Each of us had one medium bowl of ramen,I forgot the exact kind but it' s their bestseller. We had shrimp tempura for add-ons.I thought I won't be able to consume the whole bowl but I did, we all did coz it was good. It was a welcome change for my probinsyana tastebuds.
The Sugarpovas were chewy, I enjoyed how the candies glided with my salted caramel yogurt. Bits and pieces of kwento were inserted around this small round white table, mostly about Beng's upcoming wedding. We are all looking forward to it!!:)
The following day, we headed to Arlette's planned itinerary- Salcedo Market. It's a weekend place of numerous food, drinks, plants, what-have-yous kind of open market which has been receiving
a number of features from blogs, social networks and magazines. First attack- YAKITOKI!!! Did I spell it right?? Thumbs up from these teeners!!

Had a taste of the avocado poppies, it's deliciously creamy and tasty without being too sweet.
Then lunchtime came, and when 12NOON strikes, no matter how busog and bondat my atyan is, I had to eat. Yeah, my Filipino culture. Off we went to Tonkatsu with the whole group.
Anywhere else, COC!!! Mga ADDICT!!!:)
Two smart teen ladies with their word for the day- "Heartbroken":)
Our idol and bff Tammy enjoying her pick-fried chicken wings.
The best thing about this restaurant- all is refillable except for the pork itself. I had 2 servings of the miso soup and shredded cabbage. The homemade tonkatsu sauce became an instant favorite of everyone, the boys even thought for 5 seconds to bring home the 2 serving bottles.:) Happy and satisfied bellies for everyone!!
Thank you Arlette for the food discoveries and explorations you unselfishly share with all of us. I have to remind myself though that the next time you come home, I need to do serious cardio and hard core exercises prior to your arrival coz it is majorly unfair. You remain to be skinny beany no matter what you eat while I easily balloon to one giant porky pig after!!!:)
Eat. Shop.Eat.
