Dearest Barack, I am one of the more than 90% of the Filipino population who were in favor of your visit here. This is now my wishful thinking, let me step on your American soil too, even for just a day, so that my ultimate dream to have a complete family photo may come true. I give you my word, I will come back here, pabantay mo pa ako sa Secret Service and FBI men mo.:)

So Far So Good

Drifting away from him these days is easier, bearable and not that sad. May this continue to progress. I am already content and thankful for what we have that it leaves a mark in my life which serves as an indelible reminder of how great his impact is. There is no need for every day routinary hi and hello to assure me where I stand. What I know is, in hundred and one ways, he's able to show his concern for my well-being in subtlety and modesty. I know I could not ask for more.:)

A Novel Before His Demise

This entry   talks about my first encounter with a Nobel Prize winner. And he died last Tuesday, a day before I finished his novel, Love in the Time of Cholera. Gabriel Garcia Marques, passed away at the age of 87 at his home in Mexico. He is called the Magus of magical realism. Marquez used his fecund imagination and exuberant sleight of hand to conjure the miraculous in his fiction. I had quite a trouble while reading his novel because some words and phrases were very new and strange to me. However, he somehow succeeded in encouraging me that love can truly be forever.

Hopefully this year, I may be able to read his "One Hundred Years of Solitude."

My Work Station

Tita Agnes' Homevisit

Thank you Tita Agnes for the chocolates and gifts you gave to all of us. Most important, thank you for making time to see and visit us before you leave for California. God bless Tita.
Mamang as always is very delighted to see her loved ones.

An afternoon with our relatives is a thing that made me smile for the day.

My Natural Product Faves Lately

Sharing with you these two Human Heart Products that I have a penchant for recently:

 1. Lemon Zest soap. When I use it for baths, I take time before I rinse coz I enjoy its smell so much. It leaves the skin smooth and supple with lemony zest, I use in the morning as it invigorates my body for a jumpstart.

 2. Pink Smoothie Mineral ColorCreme Lipstick. Perfect for summer. It is sweet subdued fresh kind of pink friendly for the lips as it does not dry or crack the kiss skin because it has no toxic chemicals.
All Human Hear Nature products are 100% natural and animal- cruelty free. They contain no harmful chemicals, taking great care of Mother Earth.  Try these and you'll say Thank you to me.:)

Pro-poor. Pro-Philippines. Pro- Environment.

Love in the Time of Cholera

I bought this paperback probably some 3 years before because it was always described by certified bookworms as one of the best novels of all time. With Gabriel Gracia Marquez as the author, I know that it wouldn't go trash as he was a Nobel Prize winner. It quietly stayed on my bookshelf and I chanced upon it last December so I included on my simple small goals for 2014 that I should read it this year.

I brought this inside my backpack on my island escapade and finally, I was done with the last pages this week. It was quite a task to finish it in 3-5 days(my usual average for a novel) because at first I had trouble adjusting with Marquez's style of writing. I am used to Twilight, Christian Gray, James Patterson,Nicholas Spark world of words. And I squeezed Patterson's 11th hour novel(it's a bad habit of mine reading 2 stories at a time).

"A rich, commodious novel whose narrative power is matched only by its generosity of vision."
                                                                                           -The New York Times
"A love story of astonishing power."
                                                         -Newsweek

In their youth, Florentino Ariza and Fermina Daza fall passionately in love. When Fermina eventually chooses to marry a wealthy, well-born doctor, Florentino is devastated, but he is a romantic. As he rises in his business career he whiles away the years in 622 affairs- yet he reserves his heart for Fermina. Her husband dies at last, and Florentino purposefully attends the funeral. Fifty-one years, nine months and four days after he first declared his love for Fermina, he will do so again.

This is a story of ageless love which for the time that I was reading it, I was made to believe that love knows no boundaries and limits. That love is truly the most powerful being in the world. That it could really mean forever.

Read. Imagine. Love.
