Thank you for the Music, Whitney

Music is part of one's life. It was introduced to me at such an early stage that I could sing Puff the Magic Dragon,Lemon Tree and American Pie (Tito Domz's and Koyang Mark's influence) even before I learned how to write my name. I have older cousins who are all girls(the Pingols) as my neighbors and I looked up to them since I was a pre-schooler. Fashion and music sources they were to me then. They loved Madonna, Cindy Lauper and Whitney Houston. We're talking 80's and 90's here.:)

I remember Ate Ping belting out Saving All My Love For You with a minus one tape,no videoke yet then. Whitney was a household name. I was a witness to her fame and talent. Such a golden power of voice. Her movie, The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner is a favorite of mine,I can't get enough of Run To You.It just makes me sad there's no available video of it on YouTube.:( I like its line: "I wanna run to youuuu,but if I come to youuuu, would you hold me in your arrrmms, and keep me safe from harmmm??"

Whitney's battle with drug dependence,deteriorating popularity,marital blues saddened me. She is a sentimental part of my childhood era. She may have left ,nonetheless,her music will stay forever. Thank you Whitney for the melodies and lyrics which I still know by heart up to this moment.You will live forever in the hearts of many.
