37th Nurses Day at UA

Unlicall,unlitxt....UNLIPHOTOS!!!!

The day began with a Eucharistic celebration(we're in a Catholic university) followed by series of games. Do not mention to me the words contest and competition because I might not take them mildly. My colleagues and I under the Team Implementation had to remind our students belonging to the group that  the goal for the day was to have FUN and enjoy the festivities. I had to literally ask them to show to me happy faces as we were practicing our team's yell. Thru the enormous endorphins of Ma'am Au and Casey, our shy kids turned to hyper ones. The board of judges for the day's activities were Ma'am Anele, our dean, Ma'am Chi,the "youngest" in the department and Ma'am Rina, NSC adviser. I made sure to notify from time to time Ma'am Anele that our team has complete CI attendance, we are the most obedient to rules, we listen attentively to instructions, etc. These stuffs I suggested be included in the scoring system to determine the overall winner.

Team IMPLEMENTATION.
Manic phase of bipolar disorder was clearly the dominant one as I screamed my lungs out for my teammates in the relay race and tug-o-war. I discreetly distributed chocolate bars to the participants so they would have ample physical energy  but only to team Implementation members. Everyone was poignantly concerted. As players were running with bare feet, others were loudly cheering I even questioned Harry why he was munching one piece when he was not even in my team. Ma'am Beth asked for a candy of course I asked her,"Ma'am,ka-team da kayu pu ba?" "Kris, malilyu nku rugu, pag mitwag ku keni, makarine." Ok,the Kitkat had to go.

I participated in the catch-the-waterballoon contest and yeyyyyy!!! We won! We were first runner-up both in the race and tug-o-war,may chance talaga for Overall Winner.:)

Teleserye pictorial lang ang peg.
Bida o kontrabida??
Anu-ano kaya characters namen??
Evil siblings kaya??
We paid a courtesy call to our university president, Fr. Josel Henson. Tinotohanan nya and teleserye photoshoot. "The Patriarch" mode he was. Thank you Among JL for dropping by at the gym but no thanks for staying till Rolling in the Deep.

Ate Ana as the shoot director.

I was surprisingly glad to see my bosses, former mentors, and friends dolled up and glam for Nurses Night. They all look so ravishing and stunning, far away from the all-white uniform we don in duty.

My ever obedient and funny student,Prix.

Here are our students. They were all WOWWW and extremely beautiful in gowns, tuxedos and creative outfit ensembles for that matter.

Kita pa ba kame??

ASAP prod number peg

Very impressive stage conceptualized and created by our students.

Spot the band-aid.:)

Just for Laughs serye: Annsaaabeeehhhhh!!!!! Pamatay na awards!!! Hahaha!
Oh yes friends, Team Implementation, our team is the OVERALL WINNER!!! We did best in the Dance Crew showdown( buwis-buhay stunts of Casey) andYell .Di ako marunong di magseryoso. Let me tell a tale, I was so aggressive with the physical games so as to garner points because I know that there's one contest wherein we have  a very slim chance of winning-that is,the Celebrity Duets kasi ako ang kumanta!!! In fairness,my student has such a powerful and soulful voice rendering Rolling in the Deep. My workmates were one in whispering and congratulating me,kami daw mananalo. We didn't!!:( Umasa ata ako.Hihihi!Malas lang, sore throat and the cold breeze adversely affected my voice. So I thought if I was declared winner,I could say without batting an eyelash, the end of all singing contests na!!:) Harry added," Saka Ate, pota talagang magpa-concert ka pa Araneta nung menyambut ka." Baka nga.:)

As  stated by a friend, the beauty of having work status as ours, we just simply capture the days in a most fashionable, comfy and cherishable manner. Gooo Nursinggg!!Let's fight, Nursinggg!!!

My 12 People of the the Year for 2012

This post is inspired by Bianca Gonzalez, a TV and print personality. Her last year's People of the Year for 2011 made me ponder who among the people in my life made an extraordinary impact in my life, people who inspire me to be a better and more productive being. Here's my list in no particular order:

1. Kris Aquino. She is a stable source of stress and serenity. When she cries, I weep and I jump with glee every time she shows sparkle in her eyes. I have learned the art of "deadma" in dealing with her bashers. Show biz would be a big boring industry without the Queen of All Media. She keeps my interest in trying new food recipes, to try to be generous and be thankful for the blessings in spite of what may seem missing in my state of living.Thank you to all who watched Sisterakas!:)

2. Mykela. My pretty little niece delights me no end with her peek-a-boos even if she does it with each FaceTime conversations. She sings and speaks in a tiny soft voice which for me is made with perfect pitch and blend. How can I not love 2012 when it's this year I was able to hug and kiss this girl and her Ate Kadie.
3. My MOTHER. She may have a frail health yet she proves to be the most solid source of strength and contentment in my otherwise dull and "incomplete" life. She is more than enough to fill the gaps of what and who I may not have in the time being. Sitcom and telenovela combined best describes our home setting in a way that Mamang has the unique ability to make me LOL with her anecdotes and cry frustratingly when she gets sick. I look forward to a tens of lifetimes with her.

4. Fr. Josel Henson. My former parish priest, now my University president is  a brilliant man who exudes this quiet intensity of intelligence with natural flair. He finished his  Doctorate in Sacred Theology with Magna Cum Laude honors in Belgium, yet beyond his achievements, he can manage to go alongside Bossing Vic,Vhong and Vice Ganda with his antics and sense of humor. I am humbled with his extreme tolerance and patience of my eccentricity and childish personality. He and my Tito Ching are my spiritual blanket.

5. Melvin. My second older Koya shows that family love knows no distance and time.It remains constant across the miles. I am grateful for the regular communication we have with him and yayyy, my brother has an FB and Viber account!:)I see how happy Mother Hen is every time she speaks with Beloy on the phone. He is still the same old brother who spoils me with my caprices.

6. Fr. Ching Fuertez. My uncle priest is the supreme example of humility and simplicity. This year I went into a mode of despair which Tito Ching witnessed, I saw how he went "blank" seeing me cry. He made sincere effort to find ways to help me and make me bounce back to the jolly me. I am glad for every chance he gets to have to visit Mamang and bring her magic lipsticks. We are blessed to be connected to this servant of God. Thru him and Among Josel, I feel closer to the Lord, because I know that they pray for me.

7. Claire. My sis soul, closest and most reliable friend. It is a wonder how she tries to keep calm and composed for me in times I'm about to  break down and gasp for air when in fact, she is a big girl who cries  and panics  in the slightest nudge. I run to her each occasion I need to rush Mamang in the hospital and stays with her during IV insertions because I can't bear to see that for myself. She painstakingly risked her life teaching me how to drive and as my sole passenger as I tried to practice my skills.
 8. Mayet. Madame Corasing's angel. She does everything for us at home. Her asado is to die for as attested by my cousins and friends. She is Mamang's make-up artist and my hair curlist.  Mamang and I, I admit are very demanding of her time and services, yet she hardly complains and if she does,it's with an exasperated smile and sigh. Her immeasurable patience and care for Mamang is one answered petition from above.

9. Harry. My Nursing batchmate, colleague, travel buddy, good friend. He's on my list because he "fought" for me and pushed me not give up on a position  he deemed was aptly for me. He gave me the needed encouragement to take a positive view of doubtful possibilities. In my work, Harry is my security duvet. He almost has the things I need be it DLP presenter, powerpoint lectures, concept references and test banks. He is also my reliable source of our pending USA status. Ate Mitzi's life is easier because of this coffee and food lover.

10.Jakjak. Born 6 1/2 months with loads of surfactant administered to him, he is now a healthy and athletic 11- year old little man.  He is our family's Golden Boy, God's great miracle of life. He is a child who lives the normalcy of existence, playing Legos, dancing the Gangnam style, reading "Nonsense Book"and remains to be a sweet and articulate boy who brings priceless joy to people around him.
11. The late Sec. Jesse Robredo. His tragic death on August 2012 was a great loss to our nation. Here's a man who displayed humility and honesty at its finest. I'd like to give honor to this public official who  manifested genuine sincerity to make our country a better place.
12. Crush. I thank him for making me realize that I am not a vampire after all. That I still have a heart that beats. It feels brand new like it has never been hurt and bruised before. He may not have the slightest idea of his effect in my life. He is my most "selfless" love because through him I know what "Love is not a trade" means. Seeing him happy made me happy as much.

The year 2012 continued the roller-coaster type  journey of my life. It is part of the package and I embrace that. There were bumpy stations in between the smooth spaces, life is a series of these. It was a fruitful and worthy 2012 because of these special people who shared their time, love and affection to me. They are the ones who serve as my biggest inspirations to try my best to be a better me than I was yesterday. I give my gratitude to our Lord Almighty for the gift of these wonderful individuals. I feel so blessed and lucky.

Who are your 2012 People of the Year?:)

Looking forward to a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013.

Love.Peace.Happiness.
